The Perseverance Deck measures frustration tolerance. On a five-point scale that progresses from excellent frustration tolerance to poor frustration tolerance, with this Deck HR managers can get a sense of how well an individual deals with obstacles, and how much direction and guidance this person would need to have success in an organization. A personality description is provided, along with suggestions of under what circumstances a potential employee at any level might fit into an organization.

Perseverance Personality Types

Personality types are used to predict preferences, strengths and compatibility in different contexts.

  • Collaborator

You are highly motivated at the beginning of a project, but may need to be bolstered through the disruption of challenges and obstacles to the work, that may occur, by a good leader, in order to follow the task to completion. Able to work independently or as part of a group, you will be a good fit for the team with good support from leadership.

  • Completer

You work steadily toward short and long term goals, in spite of obstacles and challenges that might disrupt the momentum of a project. Undeterred, you value working as part of a team, value work performance and work relationships highly, appreciate positive feedback and can take direction and run with it, and would be a meaningful asset to the team.

  • Lone Ranger

You can be thrown off track in the pursuit of work tasks when obstacles get in the way, and you sometimes have a hard time working closely with others. Feedback from supervisors or coworkers often feels hard to hear, so your most successful environment is one in which you work mostly on your own, on short-term projects with measurable and clear-cut goals.

  • Orchestrator

You work steadily toward short and long term work goals despite any challenges or obstacles that may present themselves along the way, in a self-confident manner that welcomes team collaboration or independent work. While able to exercise and use excellent professional judgement and constructive criticism, your strength lies in your ability to prioritize and remain laser focused on the accomplishment of workplace or professional goals.

  • Supporter

You work best with shorter, manageable projects, because long-term more detail-oriented tasks may prove quite challenging and overwhelming. However, you care about being a valuable asset and will thrive when given clear tasks under good leadership.
